A recent wave of speculation regarding the future of Xbox Game Pass has prompted a response from Microsoft. Reports suggest the company is considering substantial changes to its popular subscription service, possibly taking effect as early as 2027. These potential alterations could significantly redefine the Game Pass experience. The initial claims originated from a ResetEra user known as Slayven, who has a track record of accurately revealing unannounced Xbox developments.

Among the speculated modifications, a prominent rumor points towards a division of Game Pass into distinct subscription levels. One notable suggestion indicates the introduction of a new tier that would incorporate advertisements, offering a different entry point into the service. Such a restructuring could dramatically alter how subscribers engage with the extensive library of games currently available through Game Pass.
