The popular community-driven database, SteamDB, has officially been acquired by the owners of Nexus Mods. This significant development was announced by both the outgoing founders and the acquiring entity, marking a notable shift for the long-standing backend resource cherished by the PC gaming community.
The creators of SteamDB, who have maintained the platform for an impressive 13 years, indicated that their decision to transition ownership stems from experiencing burnout. Their goal in stepping back was to find a suitable and dedicated team to ensure SteamDB’s continued operation and stability for the future. The company behind Nexus Mods, a prominent modding website, will now take over stewardship of the database.
